Smart Republicans will realize that “winning” on “gun rights” (i.e. blocking every single piece of federal gun legislation since the 90’s) is not actually “winning” anything. The NRA thrives and profits from anti-government paranoia. Note to any serious party: if you’re running for office, there’s only so much anti-government rhetoric you can indulge in, because at some point you are being trusted to lead.
